PvP

Unlike raiding and M+, there is not a lot you can do to "prepare" yourself for Rated Battlegrounds. Unless things change in BfA, all buffs are not allowed. The general rule should be: If you can improve your stats somehow, do it.

  • Know your class. Your cd's and defensives become a lot more important in PvP.

  • Make sure you have the pvp add-ons that will help you and keep them updated. However, we do insist that you have certain add ons. These are: Say Sapped, Healers Have to Die, DBM, something like BattleGroundEnemies, and something like Capping.

  • Listen to the group leader.

  • Learn the lingo. FC, EFC, ramp, ST, BS, LM, mines, water, lava etc etc. These and many more will be called out and if you dont know what they mean, you will be lost.

  • Always call out incoming attacks.

  • Always fight with the objective in mind. Defend bases, help the FC, and kill the EFC.

  • Be generally aware of what the goal of the map is. The best hope of winning, is by knowing the goal, and the best way to achieve it. If you "stay in the middle" fighting the opponents non stop, this will not help in a fight where you should actually be controlling bases, or capturing flags.

  • Be aware of the map terrain itself. Know how to get to objectives the fastest, and when you can use terrain to your advantage, like knockbacks off a cliff. The main RBG maps have been listed below:
